החל ממלחמת עזה ב-7 באוקטובר 2023, רוב הפועלים הזרים שהועסקו בחקלאות עזבו את ישראל וחזרו לארצותיהם. ישראלים וגם יהודים רבים מחו"ל מגיעים ביוזמת אירגון "לקט ישראל" כדי להתנדב ולסייע לחקלאים בכל הארץ.
